Kristine and Ross

My niece, Kristine married Ross Kovach in a beautiful ceremony on November 26, 2005 in Winter Park, Florida. This is a candid pic of the two outside Casa Feliz, the site of the reception. See other photos from the wedding on flickr.

The event brought together Kristine's mom's (and my sister, Sue's) relatives from California, Virginia and Missouri.

We love you Kristine and Ross - good luck as you start your new life together!

Here we are - Tom, Donn, Tom and Dennis - about to embark on a mountain bike ride into the Canadian woods. That's the Banff Springs Hotel in the background. The camera was set up on the foreground bike's seat for this great shot (good job, Dennis!)

The Gang

What a place to have a party! Here is a photo of the gang on the balcony of a log home in the Canadian Rockies (specifically in Canmore, Alberta, Canada).

From the left in the photo are Susan and I, then Debbie and Dennis who live in Tampa, FL, Joyce and Donn (Sonora, CA) and finally Tom S. and Jori who live in St. Charles, MO.

This was earlier in the evening of what became a memorable night. Why? Good barbeque and other fixin's, good music (good enough for inspired dancing!), great conversation and even a forgettable 'show' put on by the guys.

Banffffff!

What a place Banff is. This picture of Susan and I was taken just down the hill from the magnificently-sited Banff Springs Hotel. Those raging waters behind us are part of the Bow River, which just below this site is calm enough for a family canoe outing.

This was taken on the last day of our trip - after a week of hiking, biking, good eating and great experiences we didn't have high expectations of the day, at least I didn't. Our trip later that day was to hit the Post Hotel in Lake Louise for lunch (quite a place, see www.posthotel.com), then go for the Columbia Icefields. The stop at Peyto Lake was something we decided to do while flying up through the wilderness of Banff National Park on a three hour plus slog to the Athabasca Glacier (the icefields). I looked happy here, but there were 6 hours of driving (shared with friend Tom S) ahead. Susan and I had a great time in Canada and hope to go back some time.
